Dr Shah’s interest in vitiligo began early in his medical training, when he recognised that relatively few clinicians in the UK were actively focused on managing a condition that can have a significant impact on patients’ quality of life.
He undertook additional training, including a short fellowship in India, to gain broader experience in all aspects of vitiligo management. He is also an active member of the national vitiligo guideline group and collaborates with Cardiff University on research at Amersham, aimed at improving treatment options for patients.
He believes early treatment is key to achieving the best outcomes and takes time to understand each patient’s individual concerns, offering a clear and personalised management plan.
